Woods Technology

The Woods Technology curriculum is an extremely unique program of study. This course is designed to provide students with an educational background that will prepare them for post secondary careers in finish carpentry, furniture production and manufacturing.

In this program, students will recieve a practical hands-on experience through coursework in wood manufacturing, funiture design, and computer aided design (CAD). Students will learn the steps involved in turning rawlumber into a finished product.

The coursework begins with the survey of the industry and introduction to the use of basic cabinet making machinesand tools. Students will learn about wood properties, tool and machine identifcation, and the manufacturing process it takes to create a pice of furniture.
